Intra Company Transfer (ICT)

The ICT program allows multinational companies to transfer qualified employees to their Canadian operations for temporary periods. To be eligible for the ICT program, you must have worked for the company for a minimum of one year in a qualifying position and have a valid job offer from the Canadian branch.

There are two categories of the ICT program: the executive/manager category and the specialized knowledge category. The executive/manager category is for senior-level employees who manage the company or a department. The specialized knowledge category is for employees who possess specialized knowledge that is essential to the company's operations.

To apply for the ICT program, the Canadian branch of your company must submit an offer of employment to you and provide evidence that you meet the eligibility requirements for the program. Once the offer is accepted, you can apply for a work permit through Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC).
